Our Beliefs
About our Church
We believe the Bible in its entirety (both Old and New Testaments) to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God. We believe that in all matters of controversy between Christians, the Scriptures must be accepted as the supreme court of appeal.
We believe in the Holy Trinity: that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons (God the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit). We believe that each member of the Trinity serves different functions but that they each possess equal power and authority.
We believe that God is the Creator and Father. He is light with no darkness in Him: He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient. He is the first person of the Godhead.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second person in the Godhead of the Trinity. We believe that Jesus was and is eternal in His person and nature as the Son of God who was with God at the beginning of all things. We believe that Jesus Christ the Son of God was born of a virgin called Mary according to the scripture, thus giving rise to our fundamental belief in the Virgin Birth. We believe that Jesus lived a sinless life and that He was crucified for the sins of all humanity, rose again from the dead and ascended to heaven.
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead: therefore is equal in power and glory to God the Father and God the Son. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a gift bestowed upon the believer for the purpose of equipping and empowering the believer, making him a more effective witness for service in the world. He teaches and guides one in all truth. We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience subsequent to conversion and sanctification
and that speaking in other tongues is the consequence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the manifestations of the fruit of the Spirit.
We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that Salvation is necessary to restore people from a corrupted nature. We believe God takes the initiative in bringing about the Salvation of every man and that Salvation comes though one’s receiving a person. That person is Jesus Christ. Men must come to Jesus, believe and receive Him for Salvation. We believe in justification by faith; that Salvation is free for all and that it is independent of any work of man…it is the result of the sovereign grace of God.
We believe in water baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit by immersion soon after receiving Jesus Christ as personal Savior. We believe that water baptism by immersion is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life in Christ.
We believe that the Church is a body of believers who have put their faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and who are united in their desire to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth. We believe that the Church works together in love and unity to glorify Christ. We believe that the local church does not exist for itself, but rather that it exists as a united body of worshippers that work to meet the unique needs of the community in which is serves.
